Your First Stigma
This weekend I experienced the joy of finally hitting level 20 on my Sorcerer, and with it came a semi-long quest to get my first Stigma. Without giving anything major away, I’m going to go into some detail about what Stigmas are, how you use them, and maybe a little bit about the quest to get your first one.

So, to start off on the quest to get your first Stigma, you will talk to Jucleas in the Sanctum if you’re Elyos, or Heimdall in Pandaemonium if you’re Asmodian. This will lead you on a quest all over the Sanctum and throughout your first “10-20 Leveling Zone.” When you’re done, you will be given a Stigma and 300 Stigma Shards as a reward.

In order to “equip” your first Stigma once you receive it at the end of the quest chain, you will have to visit the Stigma Master, usually near where you finished off the last bit of the quest chain. The NPC will cast a cool looking glowy thing on you which will allow you to equip Stigmas for a cost of Stigma Shards.

You drag them in to the Stigma window, which is a tab under your Profile. The game will tell you that it will cost a certain amount of Stigma Shards and then will equip it on you. The new Stigma Spell will show up in your spellbook and may be dragged to your bars for further use.
At level 20 you start out with two (2) Stigma Spots, and every 10 levels you get one more. This system is comparable to talent points that you might get in another game that allows you to personally customize your abilities further than the trainable spells allow. Mixing and matching is part of the deal with Stigmas, but there are generally two (2) available for use at level 20. For instance, on my Sorcerer, I am using Lumiel’s Wisdom and Curse of Roots.
